Safe~T Syringe Overview
ENSI-MED International Pty Limited is an Australian and American owned company that designs and manufactures a unique safety syringe.
The original product was invented and manufactured by UniJect Australia Pty Ltd, and this company was acquired by ENSI-MED in late 2002.
The initial flagship product of ENSI-MED is the Safe~T single use retractable safety syringe. This unique product has been invented and manufactured in Australia for both local and world markets, and has numerous worldwide patents. It was specifically designed as a forerunner in the Elimination of Needle Stick Injuries and has been in use since 1994.
The ENSI-MED Safe~T retractable safety syringe is a true single-use device. The simple design makes it easy to use, and far less expensive than any alternative retractable device. The barrel of the syringe with the needle securely locked inside meets the strength requirement of a SHARPS container and can therefore be disposed of in normal medical waste. This reduces the need for expensive and often dangerous SHARPS disposal.
